The pool resurfacing is now complete. The pool winterization will be done at the end of October, pending the 28-day brushing of the new pool surface. Our pool maintenance company will handle the brushing as well as maintaining a specific level of chemical during this phase. Upon completion, the pool will be covered for winter. Possible work for next spring will be repair of the decking, replacement of the old pool cover and installation of an automatic chemical feeder.
9/26/24 As you may have noticed, there is an army of workers at the clubhouse today. The pool re-plastering and step tiles
will be completed today. Tomorrow, the dry plaster is scheduled to be treated with "Microglass," which is a virtual cure for plaster problems. The liquid product penetrates up to 8 inches into the new plaster and turns the void spaces into hard ceramic that both strengthens the surface and minimizes chemical interactions with pool water. It is completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Subsequently, the pool will be refilled and our pool maintenance contractor will be on site to brush the pool surface daily for at least a month to release any residual plaster dust. Once the brushing phase is complete, the pool will be winterized and covered.
Beginning
September 16, Scott and crew have been draining the pool into the sewer line. The next step is the pre-hydroblasting work and surface preparation, including removal of the step tiles. Our waterline tiles are still in great shape and will be acid washed to remove any scale. The actual plastering will take place toward the end of next week.
